Pokagon Tribal Courts / Peacemaking Center: Seven Generations Architecture & Engineering was commissioned by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi to design a cutting-edge native justice center to serve the Pokagon Band tribal members. Native justice is focused on healing the individual and healing the community as a whole. The Pokagon Band is developing an initiative to restore the spirit and ideals of native justice within the Pokagon Community.
Native justice, or more commonly referred to as Peacemaking, is an alternative route to justice and an entirely different way to define justice. The new justice center will allow staff to provide the proper spaces for individuals to participate in peacemaking efforts through the use of a circular court and informal peacemaking round room. The Peacemaking room will have a fire pit as the main focal point. Both of the large spaces will focus on cultural aspects of justice compared to traditionally western judiciary practices.
WholeTrees is honored to shelter and beckon those who pass through this sacred building.

Georgetown Township Library: For these dynamic branching interior columns for Georgetown Township Public Library in Jenison, Michigan, we were provided renderings of what the owner wanted. We took that vision and scanned trees to generate 3D renderings of the actual trees to match. We are currently creating the shop drawings.
WholeTrees is now applying its scanning technology to interior design and tenant improvement projects. For Georgetown Library, the architect and owners could approve exact trees before they are processed and shipped by placing our 3D scanned models in their CAD renderings.

Lakeridge Junior Hight Tree Grading: Our VP of Operations, Derek Mayhew, traveled to Washington to work with our fabriaction partners for grading, scanning, and non-destructive evaluation of structural columns for Lakeridge Junior High. We are proud to provide the expertise so these site-sourced trees can be felled, fabricated, and (later this summer) installed all wihin a 100 mile radius.

Aerial Encounters, Newburgh NY: Our CEO Amelia was honored to speak with the Integrative Design Studio at UPENN earlier this semester. Brandt Hafferd, the professor for this second year graduate design studio, invited her to present WholeTrees’ history of work researching trees' structural properties, producing commercial products made of trees, and developing digital tools for architects. Students then took some of our 3D tree models, created by scanning standing trees with a Faro laser scanner, and played with them in the digital environment. This allowed the organic form, familiar curves, and innate strength of the tree to inspire their studio work throughout the semester.
WholeTrees Inventory Platform: Exciting news! We updated the beta release of our online inventory platform. Users will expereince increased speed and the ability to download multiple file types. You can search our database of available components and download 3D models of available trees to incorporate into your next project. Standard components and products are available in our CAD library.
Near Future Summit: WholeTrees Structures paired up with Autodesk to provide an "Activation" like no other at the Near Future Summit 2019 in La Jolla, California. The Near Future Summit is, in its own words, "a carefully curated community of brilliant and concerned ass-kickers tackling serious challenges without taking ourselves too seriously." We showcased our beta inventory platform, a marketplace for trees and 3D tree forms connecting healthy forests with building professionals. Autodesk aligned itself with WholeTrees for this event, telling story together about the roles modeling software play in a sustainable built environment. The event brought together a phenomenal community and like-minded thought leaders. Thank you to Autodesk and the Autodesk Foundation. We hope to join you again at the Near Future Summit 2020!
