Angelic Organics is the largest Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm in America. Located outside of Chicago, IL, one of their mandates is outreach and education and this building was designed to house those functions. The structure is whole trees, and the outside envelope is straw bale on the East, North and West sides. The South is open for maximum solar gain but a North oriented eyebrow dormer window prevents glare. The second floor balcony is used for office space and the ground floor is open for workshops and educational outreach work. The open balcony design of the second floor allows air to circulate freely between the two levels.
